AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on the duration and terms of your contract with the vendor, and additional usage. You pay upfront or in installments according to your contract terms with the vendor. This entitles you to a specified quantity of use for the contract duration. Usage-based pricing is in effect for overages or additional usage not covered in the contract. These charges are applied on top of the contract price. If you choose not to renew or replace your contract before the contract end date, access to your entitlements will expire.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
This listing bills through a contract with two layers. First, you buy usage metrics: StarTree Compute Units (STU) for processing, StarTree Data Units for storage, and Tiered Storage Data Units for storage held on cloud object storage. Each Data Unit equals 1 GB. Second, you can choose a packaged edition. The Free Tier bursts to 10 CPU and 100GB in a single availability zone. Standard includes 5 STU, 1TB storage, and two zones. Premium, sold annually only, includes 15 STU, 3TB storage, multiple zones, and premium support. Editions scale up compute, storage, and support together.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does a StarTree Compute Unit (STU) represent, and how do STUs and Data Units combine on my bill?
An STU is a unit of processing capacity for query and ingestion work. Data Units and Tiered Storage Data Units each measure storage in 1 GB increments. Compute and storage charges bill independently and add together. Compute usually drives cost for high-concurrency query workloads; storage dominates when you retain large data volumes.
What is the difference between a StarTree Data Unit and a Tiered Storage Data Unit?
Both measure 1 GB of storage. Standard Data Units keep data on local disk or SSD coupled to compute nodes. Tiered Storage Data Units hold data on cloud object storage, which you query directly without moving it. You can split data across both by age, keeping recent data local and older data on object storage.
If my usage grows beyond a packaged edition's included STUs and storage, how do charges change?
Each edition includes set amounts of compute and storage. When you need more, you add STUs, Data Units, or Tiered Storage Data Units through the usage metrics. These extra units bill on top of the edition. You can also move to an edition that bundles more compute, storage, and support together.

Review from a verified AWS customer
What is our primary use case?
My main use case for StarTree is for data processing. As a specific example of how I use StarTree for data processing, we divide different data into the star and then call StarTree. I use StarTree for real-time analytics.
What is most valuable?
I think the best features StarTree offers is the charting. What stands out to me about the charting feature is the speed. StarTree has positively impacted my organization because it's open source, and it lowered the calls and the speed. When I say it lowers the calls, I mean it reduces the number of queries or API calls.
What needs improvement?
StarTree could be improved with better support, as I think it would be better to have a quicker response when we raise an issue. I think you are doing great.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using StarTree for one year.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
StarTree is stable.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
I think StarTree's scalability is pretty good; you can set up the EC2 better with auto scaling.
How are customer service and support?
The customer support is good. On a scale of one to 10, I would rate the customer support as 10.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Positive
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I used Kinesis, AWS, before StarTree. I switched to StarTree because it is open source and much cheaper.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
I'm not sure about pricing, setup cost, and licensing because I'm just a developer.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
I did not evaluate other options before choosing StarTree.
What other advice do I have?
I provided a review rating of 10. My company does not have a business relationship with this vendor other than being a customer.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
Public Cloud
If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?
Amazon Web Services (AWS)

Powerful Real-Time Analytics with Intuitive Interface and Seamless Scalability
Reviewed on Nov 14, 2025
Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
StarTree provides robust analytics features with real-time performance, enabling quick insights even when working with large datasets. The user interface is designed to be intuitive for both technical and business users, which simplifies onboarding and everyday use. Additionally, the platform’s extensive integration options and scalability make it well-suited to accommodate expanding data requirements.
What do you dislike about the product?
Setting up the system initially may demand a significant level of technical knowledge, particularly when dealing with more complex integration scenarios. At times, I find the documentation lacks sufficient detail, and support for less typical use cases seems somewhat restricted. Additionally, as data volume and user numbers increase, pricing can become a notable concern.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
StarTree enables efficient real-time analytics on massive datasets, eliminating delays in accessing insights for both technical and business users. This helps my team track user behavior trends swiftly and optimize decision-making, which is critical for improving our products and services. It also reduces the complexity of maintaining separate analytics infrastructure, freeing up resources for core development and innovation.
